WHAT IF MY CHILD IS GOING TO BE LATE OR ABSENT? If your student is going to be late or absent from school, please call us and let us know. You may leave a message on our voicemail if you need to call late at night or early in the morning. If your child is absent and we have not received a call from you, we will call you to see where s/he is. Your child's safety is our priority. WHAT IF MY CHILD HAS AN APPOINTMENT DURING THE SCHOOL DAY? If your student needs to leave school during the day for an appointment, please be sure to call ahead so the office can issue him/her a pass first thing in the morning. Issuing passes ahead of time helps to eliminate calls into classrooms to retrieve students at the last minute. Your student will give this pass to the classroom teacher, sign out at the office window, and walk out the front door to you. Thank you for your help. |
WHAT IF I NEED TO BRING MY CHILD A FORGOTTEN ITEM? If your child needs you to bring a forgotten item from home, we ask that you bring it in and place the item on the table provided just inside the front door. Pens and sticky notes are available for you to write your child's name on the item. Please ring the bell when you are finished, and we will retrieve the item and make sure your child receives it. @GretnaMiddleSch

HOW DO I GAIN ACCESS TO GMS FOR A SCHEDULED MEETING WITH SCHOOL PERSONNEL?
All visitors who have a scheduled meeting with school personnel will have to be buzzed in during school hours. Building doors will be locked each day at 8:05 a.m. To enter any of the buildings, visitors will have to identify themselves at a video intercom system and a secretary or other designated staff member will have to grant them access. Once inside, all visitors will still have to check in/out with the front office and wear a visitor badge while in the building. ACTIVITY PASSES may be purchased online on our Payments page. We will no longer be selling Activity Passes here at GMS.
WHAT IS GOING ON???
Be sure to check out our GMS Calendar to see what's going on every day at Gretna Middle School! Go to our webpage, gms.gpsne.org, then choose GMS Calendar on the Calendar tab. |
